Lisalie Marie Maude was Mrs Armstrong’s sister. Born in 1872 in Enniskillen, County Fermanagh, she was known to her family as ‘Zoo’ or ‘Zooie’, and was something of a favourite among the Armstrong children. At the beginning of the war, she was living in the family home at Lenaghan Park, Enniskillen, County Fermanagh, with her unmarried brother, Christopher Hugh Maude. She was romantically involved with Major Harold Echalaz Welch of Cantreyn House, Bridgnorth, Shropshire.
