“I think tis Wednesday. Tis near enough, anyway – May be, ye might be giving me a pound note one of these days for all the good food was wasted on ye here – & nothin’ to show for it. There was two pounds ye had to credit, & another would put things right between us – Ah, well. I suppose, ye’ll be roasted alive one of these days with the new stove. May be it’s a good way of goin’ out I haven’t tried it meself. But the lobsthers they say don’t raise any objection – at least I’ve never heard of one that did – I’ve no time now for more advice as ‘tis hard worked I am as ye well know. So here’s to the Play boy of the Western World, & don’t forget to write to the little girl that lives in the big Island along side – for if you dont write tis meself that will, & tell her too what ye were after doing in the town where them dirty Greeks live.”
