Katrine Maclean Baird

Katrine ‘Kitty’ Maclean Baird (1871-1932) was the daughter of Jonathan Peel Baird (1844-1915) and Emily Diana Frances née Maude (1846-1926), who was Mrs Armstrong’s first cousin. She co-founded with her twin sister Alice Anne Baird (1871-1959) St. James’s School for Girls at West Malvern, which Ione Armstrong had attended. She was also co-founder of Abbot’s Hill School, Hemel Hempstead, and acted as its headmistress from 1912 to 1930.
